Is Queensland REALLY open for business, Mr Newman?

QUEENSLAND Premier Campbell Newman has pledged to reduce the liabilities imposed on company directors by half and make the resolution of commercial disputes less burdensome.”

It’s great to see Campbell Newman making these changes in Queensland.

But honestly, Mr Newman, if you want to show that Queensland is open for business, how about abolishing payroll tax?

Our two companies have had a couple of years of rapid growth. Now that our payroll has hit an annualised amount of $1.1m, instead of a pat on the back and some sort of help to employ MORE people, we now have to pay the Queensland Government what really amounts to a minimum fine of $55,000 annually. That means at least one less job and slower growth for us. Welcome to Queensland!
