This blog entry by Joanna Geary illustrates just how easy it is to find out information about people online. A good reminder to be careful about what you post.

“15 Years of World Rally Cars – Never Forget”
Spectacular footage in this, especially from around 6.30 onward. The amount of talent some people have is very unfair 😉
byMicrosoft’s HUGE Windows 8 gamble
It seems that Microsoft has fallen behind its competitors but it would be dangerous for those competitors to underestimate Microsoft’s level of entrenchment in enterprise.
BUT…. they have to get it right this time. They couldn’t afford another Vista.

Gartner says Windows 8 Is a big gamble Microsoft must make to stay relevant in a world where mobile devices are becoming the norm
Microsoft is taking a big gamble over the next few months with Windows and Office, the two products responsible for most of its revenue and profit, according to analysts Gartner. It is a risk that Microsoft must take to stay relevant in a world where…. continue reading
Is Queensland REALLY open for business, Mr Newman?
“QUEENSLAND Premier Campbell Newman has pledged to reduce the liabilities imposed on company directors by half and make the resolution of commercial disputes less burdensome.”
It’s great to see Campbell Newman making these changes in Queensland.
But honestly, Mr Newman, if you want to show that Queensland is open for business, how about abolishing payroll tax?
Our two companies have had a couple of years of rapid growth. Now that our payroll has hit an annualised amount of $1.1m, instead of a pat on the back and some sort of help to employ MORE people, we now have to pay the Queensland Government what really amounts to a minimum fine of $55,000 annually. That means at least one less job and slower growth for us. Welcome to Queensland!

An “amazing mind reader” reveals his ‘gift’
Good lessons in this clip about keeping your private information private. It is scary when you realise how much of your information is accessible on line
by25 years have passed….
I can’t believe it’s 25 years since the INXS Kick album. I think it’s one of the best albums ever put together.
For anyone in Australia with Foxtel, Music Max is currently playing all the video clips from that album right now.
<added comment> I cannot begin to express my (anger/disappointment/feeling of being ripped off) by having to sit through as many ads on Foxtel as I do on free to air!!!!!

Shuttle Endeavour: A piece of space history flies by in slow motion
Twice we’ve been to Florida for a space shuttle launch and both times it was postponed beyond the time we could extend our stay. Last time, they scrapped the launch about 5 minutes after we arrived at the Space Center. Very disappointing.
It’s still hard to believe that the shuttle program is finished.
